Families are blessed by the family conference

Last week end I was invited to speak in a family conference arranged by one of our former Church planter in tiruvallur district. Last year we had our first family conference  for this church that focused on God’s plan for our lives, God’s order for our marriage and God’s vision for our marriage. This has bought great change in the lives of the people. The families have set their priorities right and there was a great change in their attitude towards one another. People shared how the training has helped them.

Thus they persisted me to conduct part 2 of the conference. Since we have not done anything like this before, it was a challenge for me to prepare the materials. Finally I came up with the following topics. The expectation in marriage and right way of looking at our marriage, managing money in family and sex.

When I asked each of the men and women to share what they expected out of a marriage the findings were shocking. Both husbands and wife expectations are just opposite to one another. So immediately they identified the problem in their lives. So, it became easy for them to realize what kind of person they are and what they needs to change.

One newly married couple were present in the conference, I asked her what was her expectation in the marriage. She said, she has married so that she can ask her husband to buy the things that her mother has not bought her. She wanted a scoter and a gold anklet. People laughed and laughed to hear one after another sharing their expectations.

We were surprised to know that a husband was telling that even though he has married for 5 years, his wife has never given him a kiss. One of the husband said they were married for 28 years and the wife has never put her hand on him and never went with her husband to any place alone. Two of the husbands who have never been to a Church came to the conference with their wives. Both of them have accepted Christ and decided to go to the Church. We had lot of fun games for couples that requires the couple to touch, hug, hold, and have fun has ignited joy in their lives.

Forty five  families came for the conference and went with a renewed commitment and whole new understanding about families that will bring glory to Jesus.

Updated Church Planting material for membership

When God called to train Church Planters, I did not know what to do and what to teach, even though I had master’s degree from Bible college and I was a Pastor for 5 years. The studies I had more of academic nature but the need was practical training. Not knowing what to do, I started the training with 8 people. I tried both my field experience and my bible knowledge, but I felt that I am lacking something.

That was the time God brought Ronald Vander Griend in my life. He is the one who showed me what to do next? and what to teach next? based on 2peter 1:1-11. This has transformed my life and ministry. I still follow what I learned from him. He made me think and come up with materials for the Church planters. In module 3 we help the Church Planters to teach the new converts the basic beliefs of Bible and train them to lead many to take baptism. Lost and Found

Samuel swami doss is from Madurai. He was born to Christian parents. His father was a church pastor. Though he was born to a pastor his life was a wicked life. Up to his college studies his life was abominable. None knows about his secret life. He pretends to be a good person before his parents and church people.

Because of his sinful life he was unable to concentrate in his studies properly. He lost his peace of mind and many of his nights were sleepless. While he was in mental agony his neighbor shared the good news of Jesus to him. Though he was a pastor’s son he had only very little knowledge about Christian values. He was touched by his neighbor’s words and repented for all his sins. Within two years God helped him to overcome all the sins. Then he gained the true joy and peace in his life and started worshiping the Lord faithfully.

At that time due to some problems his father was unable to continue as a church pastor so the people from his organization decided to ordain him as his successor. So he prayed to God for few days God spoke to him from Isaiah 61:1-7 and called him for ministry. Then he took charge of the church. At that time there were only two believers in his church. Then he came to know about our KGT program through his friend now he has completed three levels of training.

So far, he said that, “I have ministered without any plan or strategy and also lost many people by giving importance to the traditions not valuing people. This training has helped me to undo all my faults. During this training period I have started six small groups and baptized seven people so for. Now sixty members are attending the worship service. my vision is to establish a church with thousand people”.
